Microsoft commits to two yearly updates to Windows 10, Office 365

According to US media reports, Microsoft will give IT professionals some new guidelines to guide them when the Windows 10, Office 365 client and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for major feature upgrades. Office and Windows will receive two major patches each year, one in March and another in September.


SCCM will be upgraded with these patches for easy deployment. This means that the Windows 10 Grand Edition, codenamed Redstone 3, will be released in September. In addition, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 each function upgrade in the first full release will receive 18 months of support. This should provide additional consistency for large customers who want to deploy around Microsoft's big upgrade program.

IT administrators will be able to know exactly when Microsoft has completed a major upgrade and then set up its own deployment plan around it. Companies that use the Current Branch for Business deployment branch can still be upgraded four months after Microsoft's full release. But users who want to use the latest and best features can use the new features during the release interval.

Over the past two years, Microsoft has released and improved Office 365 and Windows 10 version of Insider Programs, allowing users to use the new version in advance, but the application of some lack of stability. These plans are not for most users, just to those who want to use the new features such as science and technology journalists.
